I signed up to get alerted when EPCOT park passes open up on Friday, May 20th. I paid $4.99 to receive text message alerts. I immediately received a text message alert that a spot opened up on Thursday, May 19th. I thought I had put the wrong day, so I paid another $4.99 to sign up for May 20th for sure. I then immediately received another text message about availability on May 19th. This was my first clue that this is a scam. I have since been receiving spammy text messages about weight loss, online shopping, etc.
