I was searching on line to buy a miniature schnauzer puppy. I found the female puppy, Laiti, on the website Paradise Schnauzers. I sent an email asking if she was still available to purchase. I received a reply that she was and proceeded to complete the online form with my information to purchase the puppy. I tried to pay by credit card but it was declined. I tried two more cards and they were declined. We checked the status of our accounts and they had available credit. I was then instructed by the seller to pay by money gram from WalMart. The cost of the puppy was $400 and the air shipping fee was $150. On Thursday, September 27, 2018, I sent $550 by money gram to Frederick Gwain. He e mailed that he had received it and would make flight arrangements for the puppy. On Friday, September 28, 2018, I received an email from American Pets Transport Company that in order to ship the puppy from Baltimore/Washington Airport to Greensboro Airport I needed to pay $1400 flight insurance (as required by National and International Aviation Commission Rule and Regulations on Pet Trnasportation) by money gram to Joseph Runwell 1420 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, District of Columbia, 20007. This $1400 would be refunded upon delivery of the puppy by Mr. Samuel Manoehs. I sent the money and awaited notification of the arrival time of the flight. By late Friday afternoon, I received a reply to my inquiry e mails, that the puppy had missed the flight and would be put on one an hour later. As time passed, we began to realize that something was not right. We googled the websites and saw them both on the IPATA list of scams.

The next morning we received another e mail from American Pets Transport Company requesting additional fees of $1200 for an air conditioned crate and vaccines for the puppy so that she could be shipped from Philadelphia Airport. This was proof to us that we had been scammed! We did not reply to this last email and have been reporting the information to several agencies as suggested on the IPATA website.
