I was selling some umbrellas on Facebook Marketplace that we never used for my daughter's wedding. I received this message on messenger.: "I'm very interested in this item. You can text me now 704 586 9989." I then proceeded to give my number and told them to call and talk to me about the items for sale. This was the message I received back: "Hi I'm interested. I would like to buy it. Can i send the code? This made me suspicious, so I asked, "What code?" Their reply was: "This code is checking for real seller and real post. Can i send the code now?"  Now I was pretty sure this was a scam, so I replied, "Well, I think this is a scam. Goodbye " I then received another reply, "This code is checking for scam and proving the post is real." I promptly blocked this person on my phone and Facebook.
