I booked this hotel through Priceline as it states it’s a hotel. I was on vacation in Florida with my kids. Upon arrive I saw the address was a house. I parked and was confused and saw not one sign stating Oyo Hotel or anything. I called Priceline they connnected me to the “hotel” and a gentleman answered. I asked what was going on as I was at a house and saw no signs etc and thought maybe I had wrong address. The guy asked who I booked through and then stated that it was news to him and he didn’t know anyone was staying. I explained I would not stay at a random persons house as that is not a hotel. He told me the property manager would meet me outside and he would cancel my stay angrily so I drove back and rang the doorbell as a sign on the door said to do so and had the number of the guy I spoke to on the door. A woman in a robe answered and said I was being rude when I asked if it was a hotel and that I paid for one but this was the address so I was confused. She got mad and told me to get off the property. It is not a hotel if I say it isn’t. Confused and not really knowing what was happening I got in the car I had children with me and I left and contacted Priceline in the time being. They got on the line and tried several times to contact the property and they would never answer the phone. There is no front desk to call as this is someone’s house. Nothing represents a hotel and having to be bed does not classify as a hotel. I was scared and had to stay elsewhere and pay for two rooms one of which I never even stepped foot in. They never got my info but took my money. Upon looking at reviews that night I saw several people claiming the same and that they had been scammed. This needs to come off of Priceline and they need to be reported as a scam so this does not happen to other people.
