I received an email that one of my favorite stores, their outlet was having a clearance for 24 hours. I clicked on the link. It looked legit. It took me to "Howler Bros Outlet", it has all of their clothes and shirts and 80% off. It had all of their logos, etc. I added a bunch of stuff to my cart. I tried to check out, and when I hit payment after submitting my name, address, email, and credit card, it said "payment error" and sent me back to the check out page. When I checked my computer though it said my payment confirmation went through and that I had an order confirmation number. I then received an email from Howler Bros Outlet that said I still had stuff in my cart and that I should make a payment. I then received a text from dvf tracking telephone number 325-238-5056. "Thanks for your order, we are getting everything ready. Please click here for tracking information. If you need anything email support at [email protected] or call 925-856-9994." So I called to see if my payment had truly gone through or not. A woman answered and asked for my email address, she then told me my mailing address and said "I see you ordered 3 blankets". I said no, I ordered 18 different kinds of shirts. She said she was sorry and that she would try to refund me or cancel my order. It started to feel suspicious. I asked her to email me a verification that they order was canceled. She said she couldn't do that. She then said maybe you should cancel this with your bank. I tried to get her to stay on the line and email me so I could verify a cancelation and she said she couldn't do that. I just called back to the 925 number and got a man. He asked for my email and I said all I have is my order number. He said he needed my name or email. I said can't you pull it up with my order number? He said no. I said can I get your mailing address and he said no. I said can I speak to a manager and he said no. So I knew right then and there that this was a scam. I'm not sure if they get your credit card number with all of your personal info and your credit card 3 digit code and then go crazy or how the scam works, but definitely not a real company. I called my credit card and stopped payment on this charge.
