My Adjuster contacted me on Monday around noon and advised that the towing company is not answering their calls and that my insurance company is charged daily for the storage of my vehicle. I advised I would contact their office again and expedite the transportation and release of my vehicle.
I called their number 7 times throughout Monday and no answer and voice mail full. I then e-mailed their company on Monday and then drove down to their address which was a vehicle compound with no head office. There were other two truck drivers in the compound and they told me they couldn't help me and to call the Ottawa United Towing office to arrange release and transport of the vehicle. When I advised that I have made multiple attempts to contact, they didn't seem to care and told me there was nothing they could do and my vehicle has to stay there. In addition, this one tow truck driver told me that when the company or driver gets back to me, "Maybe you can meet the driver at a Tim Horton's or something to sign the vehicle release document."
On Tuesday I sent another e-mail and have called both the company and the driver's phone number on their business card. Still no response or pickup on either phone numbers.
This towing company is extorting money from insurance companies by keeping vehicles in their compound, not returning phone calls or e-mails and I am still unaware as to the costs associated to the tow and the last 5 days in a vehicle compound (or more depending on when they will contact me). My vehicle is in essence, a hostage in order to charge (systematically extort) more money for storage and hindering the process to repair my vehicle and settle with my insurance company. As for customer service, there isn't any because they are ignoring all my attempts to contact.
