I was contacted by email then by phone about part time employment repackaging. I had a fairly straight forward phone interview with someone who claimed to be from HR. I provided some basic information to them including my name, phone, address, email, a photo of my US passport (I did take a picture of my passport so they could see it was real but I did cover up my personal information that is on the info page of the passport). I did not provide any bank information and my address is a PO box. I have heard from other people that this is a scam and possibly an instance of identity theft. I have not been able to contact them since we talked on the phone. All the numbers they provided are no longer in service and no one has responded to any of my emails. I do not know of any identity theft at this time but I am worried.
