Type of a scam Yellow Pages/Directories
About 6 months ago we received an invoice from a company called Online Services, in the amount of $599.99. Our office did not recognize the company and did not know the reason for the invoice. So we tried to reach them by calling the number on the front of the invoice (877)745-2839. We could not reach a person on that number. We left messages ion their customer service and sales line, requesting a call back, and never got one. We received a couple of more invoices, each with letter attached demanding payment, but no phone call to explain what it is for. After looking into this farther, we found that the address listed on the invoice, 10685-B Hazlehurst Drive 16223, Houston, TX 77043, was not an actual business address. It is a company that rents mailboxes to people for a fee.
I did some searching on-line and found some information on the Yellow Pages scam. This seems to fit it to a tee.
On 03/29/2016 we received a call from (705)722-7727 and a person named Mark Pierson was on the line asking for payment. He was very rude and threatening. When I expressed our concern and reluctance to pay, he became even more hostile, and threatened to report us to the credit Bureau.
On 04/27/16 he called again from the same number and proceeded with the same threats.
