Bought two kittens from Mega Maine C o o n Cattery online, paid for them through e transfer. Originally we insisted on coming to view the kittens in person, they said no problem, gave me an address and booked a date to go view them. We ended up cancelling because we didn't want the kittens stuck in a carrier in a car for 12+ hours, when the seller said it would be a 3 hour delivery flight, we thought that would be healthier for the kittens. Seller supposedly registered them with a Pet Delivery Company called Booth Door Pets Delivery Service. Was told they would be shipped with a Pet Travel Companion in the plane, not in cargo hold. Then, delivery service said I had to sign the transfer of ownership of the kittens, which, when provided, was already signed by the seller. They then said the crate the seller provided was not safe for the cats, I needed a special carrier which they would rent to me, plus you had to pay a fully refundable security deposit for the the special carrier. Paid that. The next morning when the kittens were to be delivered to local airport, delivery service said their insurance department says I need to pay for pet insurance before they would be able to finish being delivered...This was a total scam from both "companies". I lost thousands of dollars. The cattery was presenting they were from North Carolina, and the Delivery Company was assumed to be USA based as well. We did not know you could not do e-transfer to the USA, you can't, which means the scammers are in Canada. Sadly, at several steps in the process of purchasing these kittens, I did search online for scams under their "business names" and didn't find anything, the websites looked legitimate, and the kittens I purchased are still shown online as available. How do these people sleep at night knowing what they are doing to people? I have filed a Police Report, and I pray they get caught. BTW, found out you are not protected by your bank, or at least my bank, when you pay by e-transfer, so I will not be getting my money back.
