The next day, I received an email from her 'Shipping company', saying that my kitten has been held up because it was send in the wrong crate. I would need to rent a new crate for exorbitant prices, but they promised that I would receive the money back in full upon the delivery of my kitten. I got suspicious and initially held back from sending money, but then I starting receiving emails telling me how my kitten is waiting and is stuck in the airport all alone, hungry, and tired, and if I didn't send money I would be held liable for animal abuse and would be reported. That really freaked me out, so I sent the money.
Then I received another email several hours later, telling me that my kitten got stuck in one of the stopovers and needs a permit to be able to proceed, for extremely high fees, all of which would be refunded upon delivery.
At that point I refused to send any more money, despite Jennifer pressuring me and threatening me through email.
Altogether this scam cost me roughly $1600.
