This is an auction site. They request that you email a copy of driver's license. If you win a bid, you're requested to wire the funds to Wells Fargo Bank, 510 S 4th St Minneapolis, MN, 55415, Beneficiary: Urban Swift LLC, 5441 W 21st Ct, Hialeah, FL 33016, Account number: 8967253214, Routing number: 121000248, Wire Reference: RMA04042409. Based on the background of the photos, I was able to determine the exact location of the items (Boat). I contacted the company, where the boat pics were, and they indicated that this has happened in the past and that it was a scam. I asked if they had reported it to the authorities and they could not recall.

Boat listed on Craigslist by a Dr Richard Kennedy and on consignment with iCar depot.com. Neither Dr Kennedy or iCardepot.com would receive or return phone calls regarding more information. No Dr Richard Kennedy could be found practicing in Pensacola. Dr Kennedy did respond by email after saying he had problems sending pictures via Craigslist. ICar Depot.com would only communicate via online chat. The icardepot.com wanted us to make an offer and send money, then the boat would be delivered and we would have 7 days to return and get our money back. We refused to make an offer or provide any money without seeing the boat in person and make the sale in person. ICar Depot.com said we could see the boat in person at 2370 N Palafox St, Pensacola FL, 32501 any time M-F without appointment. To verify someone would be there before making a long drive I contacted the property owner Doug Dickerson who told me he sold the warehouses a year ago and suggested I contact Coldwell Banker Reality to find out if iCar Depot.com was leasing property at that location and get a number to call. Spoke to the Realtor who sold the warehouses and has leased them out to new tenants. No such company as iCar Depot and no boats being stored on that property. Craigslist list ad for this boat is listed only one Craigslist Tampa and not listed in Craigslist Pensacola. Certainly looks like a scam to me.

Saw a listing of a boat on Craigslist. Contacted the seller who informed the transaction is handled by iCar Online Depot, the service he has been using a lot in the past. He directed me to the website where I initiated the transaction (icardepot.com) and was instructed to wait for further instructions. Meanwhile, I did initial investigation and realized the entire scheme is a scam. In particular:

1. There are no mentions of the iCar Depot on the internet whatsoever.

2. There is no actual listing of vehicles for sale on the website. You have to enter the Inventory number to see it (in my case it was 037178), however any other number entered did not return any results (most likely this is the only item they put for me).

3. the domain name was registered in 2021, despite the note on the website they have been in business for 12 years.

4. The company is not listed in BBB.org5. The instructions were to wire the money to a third party company (DAGB LLC in Miami)

6. The instructions requested to indicate in the "Reason for payment" ONLY the transaction number (here what it said: *IMPORTANT* Provide only this number. Do not write "Purchase of a boat" or any other extra details with your transfer because our bank will be unable to identify automatically your wire transfer.)

7. I was provided an initial Bill of Sale that had all the info, however the very important piece, that is the information of the trailer (model, serial number, make, year) were missing.

8. The original ad on CraigsList was taken down and no longer available (https://columbia.craigslist.org/boa/d/chesnee-2008-bayliner-246-discovery/75915... />
9. All communication with the seller was via email (Dr.Richard Kennedy <[email protected]>), however as he was using icloud.com email account, the headers did not indicate the IP where the emails were sent from.</[email protected]>
