I first received a call from “Dan with Elite Roofing” for a roofing quote. Then Maddie (the sales representative) comes to my house in person with a book bag and product examples. She inspects my roof, takes measurements and offers a quote. Then, calls her boss to “sweeten the deal”. I believe his name was josh.. so he answers and lowers the cost. I tell them I will consider the offer. Then she says let’s get it a little lower, he will make a call and call me back. He calls back with an even lower offer. I tell her I will consider it. She has now overstayed her welcome (she was here from 3 until 1030pm). I told her to have the office call me in the morning. I asked if they had paperwork or a card they could leave me, she left a hand written note with the numbers on it. No actual advertisement for their business.

I spoke with the “office” and agreed to submit a loan request to get the roof replaced quicker instead of burrowing against my equity. I got approved but for lower than the amount. They dropped the cost of the roof again to be covered by the total amount of the loan.

The guy continues to tell me I have to get this stuff signed and back over to him asap because my “now-lower-rate is only locked in for 24 hours” and he doesn’t have ANYONE available to come out with physical paperwork to get it signed. I said to send it to me electronically and I would sign it and send it back. He continued to tell me that he couldn’t do that (it wasn’t available to them) and THEN asked me if I would “mind if he just signed the loan document for me”. He kept exaggerating how great the deal was and he just didn’t want me to lose out.

I immediately expressed my uncomfortable feeling about him signing my loan. I told him it was sketchy and unethical. I asked for the name of his company again and he said “one dream home” and rushed off of the phone. Mind you, the guy Dan said elite roofing on my voicemail. Which I still have in my phone.

Then Maddie shows back up that same day with the documents (that no one was available to bring) for me to sign. She was sent on her way and never returned.

I want to report this business so that no one else feel pressured or scammed into a company ILLEGALLY SIGNING their loan documents.
