I today received an unsolicited call (again) from an outfit of telemarketers whose representative, after my persistently asking three times on whose behalf she was calling, said she was calling from St. Louis, MO at the direction of the Omni Ellis Law Firm to "follow up" on a fake invitation she claimed they sent me to attend a dinner to talk about my family's timeshare. After that, I informed her we are on the federal and state Do Not Call lists, we do not do business with her company or with that law firm, and the call appeared to be a scam to harass timeshare owners like so many others. I then said goodbye and hung up.

We receive these kinds of calls all the time, despite being on the federal and state Do Not Call Lists and of course never having received such an invitation in the mail. In my opinion, these characters are engaged in an effort to scam people out of their timeshares and to willfully violate the Do Not Call List prohibitions on unsolicited marketing calls by couching their calls as "follow ups to an invitation" that doesn't exist. Don't fall for them. Report them to the BBB, the FCC, your state AG and the state bar in which this law firm's attorneys are licensed.
