Omaha Transports Reports & Reviews (3)

This scammer listed a a Subaru WRX on Craigslist for a very good price and then directed me to Omaha Transports for more information. They then instructed that Omaha transports would ship the car and then hold the money in escrow for 5 days in which I would signal that I was satisfied with the product. They then requested that I pay the shipping cost in a bank wire transfer of 9,100 dollars. Their website is obviously fake as the address leads to a completely unrelated business and no company would ask you to pay in bank wire transfer. It is nothing but an elaborate scam.

They also included a number for their "financial department", 1 (402)285-4510

I contacted seller by text. They responded saying product would be shipped to my location for inspection. Once i was satisfied, the shipping company would act as an escrow service and release funds to the seller. Transport service (Omaha-Transports) would give me (the buyer) 5 days to accept or decline product. If i declined product, seller would be responsible for return shipping. I called the transportation company, "Omaha Transports", talked to a man called Micheal(Mike). He had Spanish accent and did not comprehend all that i was talking about over the phone. I asked about the companies Nebraska ScamPulse.com rating, he had no idea. The more we talked, the faster he tried to end the conversation. I Google Map the companies address soon after our conversation. On Google Maps I found a warehouse facility with no name of Omaha Transports above any door and there was no business name on the sign located to the side of the warehouse that stated what businesses were located there by the end of the driveway. The companies web site was not easily found and once there, it has a copywrite of 2018. Mike at this business that i talked to stated that they have been in business since 2007 but there website copywrite says 2018. I cant find any proff of this business really being there, only a web site buried back in the pages of the web.

Saw on craigslist a 2014 Keystone Outback Camper for $8000. I contacted the person through text message and they asked for an email so they can reply though that. Gave my email address and got this first message:

Hello There,

Thank you for contacting me about my 2014 Keystone Outback. It has a very clean interior and no mechanical problems. The trailer is in excellent and immaculate condition. No hidden damage or defects. I have a clear title under my name, free of any liens or loans. The price is firm, $8,000. I am selling it because my husband died a month ago (he suffered a heart attack) and it brings me bad memories, so I want to sell it as soon as possible. My daughter and I decided to sell the house and we moved with my parents in Omaha, NE trying to start a new life. Let me know if you are interested in buying it or if you have any questions.

P.S. Attached you can find more pictures!

Thank you for your interest!

I replied asking if I could come look at the camper. That's when I got this reply:

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Like I said in my first e-mail, my daughter and I decided to start all over. We sold the house and moved in with my parents in Omaha, NE. The trailer is here, with all the documents at the shipping company (Omaha Transports) ready for to be delivered. I plan using their escrow and transport services. They guarantee 100% protection and insurance for both of us. Using this company, you will have it for 5 days to try it out. If by any reason, you decide against it, you can send it back at my expense and be 100% refunded in less than 24 hours. I will not get paid until you inspect it for 5 days and make a decision. For more details about how Omaha Transports works, please reply with your full name, shipping address and a phone number.

With your info, they will send you an email right away and you can also reach out to the company!

I got suspicious with this reply but decided to give my address. So I sent my address and got this reply:

Hi Graeme,

Hope my e-mail finds you great. The camper was used few days, It's like new. I wanted to ask if you got the invoice from shipping company. The item is in at the shipping company, ready to be delivered at your address. The title, bill of sale and all the paperwork is already signed by me and included. As you know, the shipping is free. You will try it out for 5 days, and if at the end you are happy with it, you can give them the "thumbs up" to release the money to me. Or if not, you can just send it back and get a refund, without paying for the shipping. They also have their toll free number on the invoice, so for any additional questions, feel free to ring them.

Let me know if there is something else that I can do from my end.

I got the "invoice" this person talked about from a company called Omaha Transports. I looked every where on the internet and the only place I could find that company was through the website listed on the invoice. I even found that the domain name was created 5-31-2018. The website looks legit but the address for this company is an address for a completely different business. I never tried contacting the company through the provided phone number on the invoice.
