Received a text message on my cell phone from phone number 438-282-9612 stating my vehicle had unpaid toll charges and to settle our balance of $7.60. To avoid late charges of $150.00. I blocked this number and did not fall victim.

I received a text stating that I had unpaid toll invoice. It said to avoid the $97.50 additional charge to please pay a balance of $9.75 at https://ohioturnpiketoll.com. I have not been on a toll road in Ohio in the last five years or so and I figured it was a scam.

They just claimed that I had an under fee of $7.60 through the turnpike system in Ohio and if I didn’t pay that that would be an additional $150 penalty and that’s about all they said. The text says Ohio Turnpike tolls services, our records indicate that your vehicle has an unpaid toll invoice. To avoid additional charges of $150 please settle your balance of $7.60 at And then it’s got a website which when you click on the website, it looks like the Ohio Turnpike commissions website
