Received email asking me to download Signal app to schedule interview. Reached out to "hiring manager" to schedule. Hired immediately. Woman told me she would be sending me a check to purchase my equipment. Tried to ask about bank account information.

I got the same email but using Sunn Project Inc as company name. I haven't downloaded signal app to get interview. Several of the jobs I've applied for seem to be scams like this. It's very disheartening.

Contacted my wife about a job opportunity with ODE Design company to work as an admin assistant. Offered her $25/hr work from home position. After a few normal questions they started to ask information about our bank and how she would like to get paid. The conversation stopped their after bank information was asked for.
