Octal Technologies Reports & Reviews (6)

Was contacted on Facebook regarding a work from home opportunity. Referred to a hiring manager, interviewed via text, asked for personal information, what bank I used ,social security number and a copy of my ID. I declined, however I did give them my name and address (mistake). I was told that a check would be sent to cover the cost of equipment and training. I was hopeful, but suspicious the entire time. Hopefully there won't be any fraudulent activity done in or on my name. SCAM! BE AWARE.

My experience was identical to the above, but he had a check sent from someone else to me. I never opened the envelope and returned it to the sender.
Also note, just today, for the second time, Mr. Curtis Taylor texted me again with the same dialog.
Beware!

My experience was an exact match to the lady on June 11, with the exception of the dates mines was done on June 17 and I said yes because I wanted to know his (Curtis Taylor and the same phone number) scam. I spoke to him twice once the interview process and the day I received the check. He tried very hard to get me to send him money through biticon, zelle, or the post office and I told him no. I deposit the check which I assumed was fake and notified the bank of what had happen. Hoping it will help track him down with the fake info. My account was frozen until they figure it out, which is no problem I did not use my regular account. I puroosely did it on a Saturday because it would take three business day to clear the check and the post offices was closed. He wanted me use gift cards I said no. This was supposed to help with the equipment. I have attached all the info I collected during this time and still have all the texts. Some my info is showing but I am fine with this if will helps others. If sounds and bad its bad. I got a bad feeling immediately, but I wanted see how far he would go. I lost no funds and remember hiring managers and recruiters do not text they send emails. Thats how I have been contacted he was the first and made me suspsicious.

They contact to provide Data entry job

I applied for a job with Octal Technologies thru LinkedIn that ported me to their website, and to their application page. I was contacted thru text messages (from 1(386)492-0972) a few days after that read: "Hello "my name", my name is Curtis Taylor, Octal Technologies hiring manager, you applied for a job position at our company via LinkedIn , you have been offered employment at Octal Technologies. Kindly get back to me soon as you receive this text." I then was a little hesitant because I have been applying to jobs in many places and have been getting some dicey messages back so I asked what job specifically I applied for which he replied "Data Entry." which was correct. He then when on to tell me "You will earn $30 per hour and training $25 per hour, you will receive your pay via Direct deposit or Paycheck weekly. Be able to provide a minimum of 25-30 hours of schedule availability." I asked, "The job is remote right? I noticed your location is in Florida?" he replied, " This is a remote job position, you would work from the comfort of your home zone. Kindly follow the link below for your interview on our website: http://www.octaltechnologies.com/interview-data/ Make sure you notify me soon as you submit your job application, kindly fill out your full address on the website, the information will be required to prepare your employment letter, understood?" I checked the website given and thought it was a little odd because it was the same website page I'd previously used to submit my first initial application for the job. The exact same website. When I asked about it and needing an interview he said, "You've actually interviewed on our website according to our records, that's why we are offering you employment." then before I could fill out the "paperwork" again he sent me this, "On a grade of 100% how much can this company depend on you for your loyalty, diligence, hard work, team spirit and sincerity ?" I thought the repetitive words, words without correct punctuation was a little odd for a hiring manager of a supposedly highly advanced technological support company especially since text messages auto correct punctuation while typing things out for you. I then said "100 percent dependability, I intend to give my all in any I have." he replied with "Due to your level of experience and communication skills,Octal Technologies has decided to give you a chance to work with the company and will like to see your diligence,Charisma,Commitment to this job. Congratulations!!!" He then proceeded to ask about my full address even though I already gave them that in the application. I questioned why he needs me to send it to him after it's already done in the application and he insisted me giving it to him over text. I waited a little big before planning on telling him no, and decided to ask three random questions for verification reasons. I asked "What's your favorite color? What's your preferred choice of ice cream? And lastly what is the worst kind of spider in your opinion?" After he dodged the question he told me he found the "information which was submitted on the website." and said, "Kindly look out for your employment letter it will come in your email tomorrow. Got it? Once again!! Congratulations on your new job Position. we are looking forward to your great commitment, Dedication and trust. Bye and have a blessed day! God bless!!!" At this point I was a bit skeptical and myself and my Father did some digging on their website. Turns out their website is very vague on what exactly they do and require of employees, they have tons of spelling errors, and use of the English language and grammar was used in odd weird ways, as if someone wrote it that didn't use it well enough. The address given leads to a house that has a different number than the address states in a dead end of the housing area. One of the links even goes to a page that is just filler text and not anything that actually makes sense. If you look up Octal Technologies on google you get a bunch of companies with similar names that are shut down and not operating anymore as well. The whole thing seems very sketchy to me and so I am reporting this to ScamPulse.com since nothing came up in the scam searches or even the legit business search.
