I was contacted on my cell phone by someone (PH: 808-726-0553) claiming to be from Oceanic/Time Warner cable (our internet provider) on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 3:37 PM. He said he was in our apartment building this week and wanted to set up an appointment to check our internet/cable connection. During this conversation, there was a beep and he asked me if I could hear him. We became suspicious because we had never given Oceanic/Time Warner Cable my cell phone number, only our land line. We called Oceanic Cable who told us they arranged no such appointment and the phone number did not belong to any of their employees.
