I believe that first contact was in an email, but I haven’t found it for this report. I may provide additional information later if possible. A WiFi range extender was offered, and it appeared to be free with payment of a shipping charge. Noticed a charge of $5+, posted 2/24. On Thursday I received a small package in my USPS mail and again checked my bank records, and found a second charge from the same business for $82+, posted 2/28. I am holding the package, unopened, because I understand that the USPS would return it at no cost to me if I mark it “refused.” The return address has “Returns” for the name and a box in Akron OH. I never saw the $82 charge before it appeared in my bank records and I believe that the online form showed the item price of $0.00 and the shipping charge. I phoned the company and was told that no returns are allowed or refunds given. I threatened legal action and was on hold for a while before the woman spoke again to tell me that she had been authorized to offer me a 60% refund, with no mention of a return. I did not accept the offer and was told that I could call back later. I don’t understand the game and don’t want to play. I don’t want this item at any price from a business that plays this game.

I was asked if I wanted to cancel my “subscription” and delivery of the next “voucher.” I told the woman that I didn’t know what she was talking about and she responded that she did cancel for me. For good measure, I cancelled my debit card to avoid further payment to this business. I’m told that any eventual refund would still be channeled into my checking account.

I am writing to reach out for expert advice. If there is action that I should take, including another phone call to this business and/or returning the package, please advise. Thank you!
