I was scrolling through Facebook trying to find a puppy and I came upon the puppy I’ve always wanted. It was a frenchie. I messaged the lady and she said she had a boy(550) and a girl(600) left. I told her I had to have the girl! We messaged back and forth all day about making plans to meet and I do on the puppy(shots, age, habits, etc) the lady said it was 250 to hold the dog until I could get to her. So I paid it. She told me I would have to wait until Wednesday to pick the puppy up because she had to give her, her last shot. Well as an experienced dog owner I told her I wanted the dog ASAP and I would administer the shot. She said if I paid her in full she would be ok with that and her husband would get the dog ready for me and meet me. So I did it. Everything seemed normal until she messaged me and told me I had to pay another $250 for insurance on the dog to make sure she had safe travels pretty much. Just in case something happened to the dog on transport. Then I got suspicious. So I told her I have bought a lot of animals and I’ve never in my life heard of incidental insurance on a dog before ??????? And I refused to pay her for it. She told me she would not release the dog unless it was paid. So I told her that I would not pay it and I would just come to her house to pick up the dog. She gave me her address (which I went to, met the owner, it wasn’t her!) so needless to say I got upset and told her I knew she was a scam. I done some research on her Facebook (which I should have done first) and in her profile picture she had a smock on that had a vet clinic’s name on it. So I searched it. It was in Miami Florida. I called them and they said they have no one by that name and never had. She had recently posted she got married and there were three comments that said congrats bro! I clicked on the friends profiles and they were all from Africa some place called Cameroon. Where I really messed up was that I requested my money back from cash app they refused my refund. Cash app told me they couldn’t legally pull money out of someone’s account unless they allowed it. And because my money came from my cash app card there was nothing my bank could do! So I was and still am out $600!! But I have learned my lesson and will never do it again!
