I have my resume on Monster.com and was contacted by someone claiming to be a part of NVL Lease. They had me complete competency training and keep claiming that I am scoring very well on the tasks. I have also spoken with two women via phone who both had what sounded like Spanish accents. I have been emailed by someone going by the name Walter Lorenze. They have offered me a job making $90,000 a year and claim they are opening an office location near me. When I tried to find out information on the company the website they are using, http://nvl-lease.com, has only been registered for about a month's time and the office locations listed seem to be in office buildings that have virtual office rental spaces. I feel they are about to send me money and ask that I purchase laptops and send them to other locations.

I am currently in the job market and have been dealing with this supposed company for about a month. The company goes by the name of NVL Lease. They claim that they are a equipment leasing company that also offers small business loans and financing. They have what looks like a legitimate website, will call to give you a phone interview, and put you through a "paid screening process." It started out by someone who goes by the name of Evelyn Beth posing to contact you and set up a phone interview. Following the phone interview you are alerted whether you passed or not. You are then accepted into the paid screening process, whom someone by the name of Walter Lorenz will be your training manager. They claim that it is their way of seeing who's really behind the resume by testing your knowledge on the position and giving them some real world projects to work on. They claim that you will be working as a 1099 and will be paid once the screening process in completed. And if you pass the screening process you are guaranteed a full time position. During the process it seems as though things check out okay, although a little different from what you're used to. Initially I figured the different approach was from the fact that they are a European company. And then money started getting involved - and they wanted to involve my personal money. They put together this exquisite document explaining the process of purchasing equipment as part of an assignment via your credit card and them reimbursing you with a "corporate account." You were to receive additional compensation for the project of 8% of the cost of equipment. Although I was a little skeptical, I decided to continue the "screening process." They provided me with a corporate account number to use to reimburse the credit card. I then purchased the equipment and used the account number to reimburse my account. There were a couple transfer transactions as they said to bring your credit card balance to zero prior to purchasing equipment. They then wanted me to send the equipment, which were Apple MacBooks by the way, to Ukraine for a "client." Prior to actually completing the step of sending out the equipment, I was planning on verifying with the banks that the transfer couldn't be reversed. While I was waiting for the banks to process the transfers, etc., the first transfer indeed reversed. This answered my question before I could even verify it myself. So I alerted the company and told them what happened. They claimed that they couldn't see it on their end yet and to use another account in the meantime. I responded that I am uncomfortable involving my own money due to the security risk and if it would be possible to use a corporate credit card instead so that no personal money would not be involved. Needless to say I never heard back from them. Fortunately, all I lost was time but I could have lost $7000.
