I made a rental car reservation via Orbitz with a company in Mexico called NU Car Rental. The advertised rate was $15USD/day. I agreed to terms and reserved the rental. I was charged approximately $180 USD. When I arrived to pick up my car, a man who spoke very little English told me it was required that I purchase insurance for an additional $200 (much more than the cost of the rental itself). I declined and asked that he cancel my reservation. He agreed. A week later, I realized the $180 charge was not credited. I contacted Orbitz and NU Car for a refund, but they refused saying it was a pre-paid reservation and was not refundable. I understand I probably clicked terms and conditions which indicated the non-refundable nature, but come on. We know this was designed to be deceptive. I would NOT have agreed to the rental if the full price was presented.
