I booked through Priceline weeks in advance. The offsite location was revealed after the booking and was non-refundable.

I arrived at the facility on 01/17/22 to pick up the car for which I paid. A man of Filipino descent greeted me took my credit card information. He then said my reservation was canceled. I told him that I had just called prior to arrival and I was told to come to pick up the car by Kelly. I told him that the reservation was prepaid he then he stated that he will check with his manager.

He returned after a short while, he returned and told me that he found my reservation. He got my insurance information and credit card. After all of this was done, he said you are charged $90.48 more because the car type that I had paid for was not there. I told him I do not want to pay for something that I have already paid for. He said to go back and come back in 2 hours maybe someone will return. An hour later I got a call from Kelly telling me that there is no car and to come to pick up what is left.

I went back to a female staff who introduced herself as Ana told me that other car rentals respect the initial agreement with the client but we charge people "ridiculous amount of money." The behavior was unprofessional. After I left the facility with the upgraded car paying double what I paid for. I saw the credit card they had charged me twice. So I paid 90 plus dollars already through Priceline and they charged me 180 dollars plus the 90+ dollars they were paid already by priceline. In other words the rental car cost me 3 times the original prepaid amount. When I called the office, they put me on hold for a long time, and then the staff member Ana picked up the phone. I told her about the double charge. She was rude and stated that she has a customer in front of her and has to hang up. I asked for her full name or employee number, she stated "I am the only Ana at this facility and we don't have employee identification or number."

This is a scam. This experience has not been limited to my case when you review their google reviews and yelp and other review sites. it is full of similar situations. They commit people with non-refundable prepaid bookings. When customers arrive, they tell them that the car they booked for is not available therefore they should pay at least 2 times more for a similar car.

So I rented a car back in July from Nu car rentals on 5400 W Century Blvd

United States I paid in full using Hotwire . I had no problems until today Dec.15 I get an incoming charge from them For the amount of 130.00 dollars. How can they charge my card for no reason when I checked out and they did the walk through and said I was good and owed nothing. Only mistake I did was letting them put my card on file in case anything happened. Which is normal with most car rentals. But it is not normal to charge the card six months later thinking I’m not going to notice this type of thing! I don’t live in California but if I did I would go straight to the commissioner’s office and report this kind of fraud! Once a customer is checked out they should release the card on file period !
