TOn 12/6/19 my computer was locked and a phone # l isted on screen. The only way I could get my computer back seemed to be to subscrribe to their service [$549.99}. They made it sound so much better than the Webroot which I had that I naively signed up, putting it on my charge card. I was soon worried and on 12/10/19 e-mailed asking for a refund. We have haggling over this ever {mostly with an Allen King { who claimed to be a manager}, But all he would agree was a partial refund. Finally,, on 1/24/20 I received a call from an Alex Peter saying that they were npt reaady to process a refund of $500, wanting to direct deposit it. I needed to contact PN Bank, and smehow they must have been listening to my call because they now could access information on all of my accounts

Instead of $500 they sowed an "accidental" direct deposit if$20,000, wanting me to wire them the $19,500 over payment {to an individual in Thailand-I have a copy of all that information, but computer iiliterate that I am, do not know how to attach it}. Mr. Peter then claimed to have moved all of my money at PNC to "his" account, ans the only way I could get it back was to do "exactly what he told me to do." I again refused, and he locked my computer and hung up o n mel. He has tried to call me once since then, but I would not talk with him. I have changed my Visa #, notified PNC {all my money is there and they have put an alert on my accounts and promised an investigation.} I tried to file a police report, but since I did not lose the $19,500, they wouldn't take it. It certainly sounded like extortion to me. I was also able to figure out how to get back into my computer.. At this point, I am just considering the $549.99 a loss ad the whole situation as a learning experience.
