Type of a scam Debt Collections
I have received 4-5 calls a day from the phone number 844-226-8637 I called it back on a private line. The automated greeting said this was NRA collections. I spoke with a man with a heavy accent, who told me I was being brought to court for a payday loan in2013. I told him I wanted to know from what company? I explained I wanted the name. He said horizon llc. I have no knowledge about any of this and requested an email, or mailed letter about this matter. He stated several had been sent. Yet I have never seen anything like this. He knew the last four numbers of my Social Security, address and email. But then he asked if I worked at a job I haven't been at since 2011 which is 2 yrs prior to this alleged loan. I requested that I talk to a manager. A woman got on the phone again with a heavy accent. She also refused to send me any kind of paper notification, and went further to tell me I was going to jail if I didn't pay $700 today. I told her I would be reporting their company and hung up. I'd like to point out a few things. First, there was never a notification that the calls would be monitored for quality assurance. Second there was never any kind of policy or procedure read to me, there were no disclaimers disclosed. I believe this was a scam.
