While going to sports news site, popup comes up locking up browser and computer and saying do not restart or turn off computer or serious damage will occur to hard drive. Call microsoft tech support 855-637-1221 to fix. A loud siren plays in the background. An immediate malware scan shows the popup (which cannot be closed) contains malware. My malware program was able to delete the ransomware and restore normal operation. In checking I noticed this number reported numerous times on another scam site. Surely this must be in violation of some law, so not sure why it hasn't been shut down and owners prosecuted as they clearly have no connection to microsoft..
