I received an email stating “Transaction was successful” with a charge of $349.79 for a Norton Life Lock subscription that I currently do not have. The only reason I called the number is because I recently had to cancel an unused Norton subscription that took some time to get a result from. I saw this email and thought I was being charged again. I called the number and the man named “Jesse *****” said I needed to be in front of a computer in order to cancel the subscription. I thought this was very odd, but I wasn’t near one so I said I would call him back. He gave me a direct phone number to call. I called him back, he asked me to open Google Chrome and type in **************** I said, I shouldn’t have to download an app to cancel this. He said, this isn’t an app. I downloaded it, he asked me to give him the number on the screen, I did, then I received a pop up saying “warning” someone was trying to access my computer. I told him I was receiving a warning pop-up and he said, “oh, it must be a technical issue, let me try again.” I then hung up the phone, checked all of my bank accounts, and there was no charge. I called the number back and there was just a “Hello” on the other end, not how someone answers from a business. I told him Inreported him to the ScamPulse.com and he replied with, “** ****, what should we do.” I said, I reported you and to stop scamming people. He said again, “well what should we do?” In a very sarcastic and careless tone. I hung up the phone, he called back, so I blocked the number.
