She contacted me first by telephone saying she had a Golden Doodle she had to get rid of before tomorrow. She asked for my email so I could send pictures. I gave it to her and she forwarded me pictures of the puppy and a long detailed story about her dad needing to go to the hospital tomorrow morning. She explained her father worked for a shipping company and that he would insure that the puppy made it from Northern VA to the Border of NC. There were a few broken English texts. She explained she needed me to transfer money via Western Union to the “company”, based out of Cameroon. I was nieve and did just that. She then said she needed the recipe to take to the shipping location so they would ship the dog. I sent that. I then requested that we speak on the phone in order to confirm that this wasn’t a scam she gave me an excuse that she couldn’t do that because her phone was broken. After that I got suspicious. I started asking more and more questions and she couldn’t answer. She then sent me long texts after text about how she and her father just wanted a good home for their dog blah blah blah. I knew in my head I was being scammed but wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I wake up the day the puppy is to be delivered with an email from western union saying the money has been picked up followed with and email from the “delivery company” saying they need another 245 dollars for insurance to drop the dog off. At this point I know there is no dog and this is a scam. I informed the scammer via text that it’s over that if there is really a dog then she can pay the 245 dollars and have them refund the money back to her later but otherwise she can keep my money and the authorities will take care of it. Beware of this. Don’t get overly excited to get an animal from these people they will sucker you in and they do not care at all about you.
