I'm currently employed but actively looking and I found a a job on a internet job board with one of the really popular job board sites and contacted this company Northstar dryer vent cleaning. They were and still are advertising that technicians made upwards of 190- $200 a day and that they would start at part time work. I submitted my resume online and was later contacted by a representative and they told me that I needed to give them authorization to run my background and they would call me back in 30 minutes if I pass their background check, and I received a call back after 30 minutes and they said that my background checked out that they wanted to check & verify if I was able to purchase their kit for $385 and the tool and everything that I needed to start up as one of their service Techs in my local area of the greater Atlanta metro area. They then proceeded to obtain my form of payment for the container bucket, dryer vent brush, house clamp, dryer brush, flashlight, DVD, a three-ring binder, a clipboard, receipts, business cards, appointment slip, coupons, this was what I received for $385. And in the three-ring binder there's a slip that I sign, it's a "technician agreement" and they pre filled it out and then I initial it after I've read it, and everything is as what they in the slip agreement is what they advertise on the job board on the internet and so everything looked fine so, I signed it and, then they asked for me to mail that back to them and then once mailed back to them then they say call for 5 days after you mail it. Now they have proof that I have received something from them and in that I paid them which is marked here on their technician agreement that I paid them for what I've received which is in their company technician agreement it says the company has received $385 from technician as agreed for their service membership training which they #1 haven't trained me #2 for the equipment #3 the business cards #4 the literature of #5 the advertisements #6 the receipts the #7 business forms and #8 Technical Support which there is no technical support then it proceeded to say that this is a non-refundable cost but it will be reimbursed and paid back to the technician upon the completion of services rendered to customers. I feel as though after a month, I dated this agreement,11- 11-2019 and it is now 12-10-2019 that I've made two calls to their so-called technical support number at 1 800-514-9816 it is screened with a voicemail and you leave a message and they'll call you back there screening their calls I feel as though they've scammed me. I don't know if they're just scamming people in different areas or what but they have a a business license number listed on their sheet which I don't know if it's legit and they have a website which I don't know if that's legit says there been in business since 1983 which I don't know if that's true but I have paid them $385 for something that probably cost Maybe $50. I feel as though I've been scammed and they made a false deception of business and of employment and I would really like to have some action of recourse to bring Justice about to these people who are, I feel as though are running scams on people who are putting up money in hopes of securing for themselves and for their families an additional income to provide for the needs of their budgets and for their households as I am as well. On my second attempt to contact their technical support I did receive a phone call back and the guy asked me to review my postal ZIP code and I did give him that and then he proceeded to ask me for my social security number and credit card number and date of birth and I said no no no and then he says I'm just kidding. This was a Telltale indicator to me that this gentleman that I was speaking with was the Hub he was at the Hub of this scam and he was making fun and mocking me because I was forthcoming and upfront with my information although I did not give him those things that he asked me of the second time around because I already had my guard up and I believe that I conveyed that through my tone of voice. But he still made light and fun of the situation to throw it into my face.
