I responded to a Craigslist ad where I was scheduled for a Zoom webinar. The company name was not mentioned once in the ad or even by the webinar host, and I only clocked it from a picture of their headquarters shown on the slideshow. I strongly suspect that Jacob, the webinar host, was pre-recorded, and was answering "questions" sent from those in attendance that no person would reasonably have at that point in the webinar. The job described in the webinar was nothing like the job described in the Craigslist ad. I was immediately suspicious and found others describing the scam online. I was kicked out of the webinar for putting a sticky note warning others of the scam in front of my webcam before I could find out how they planned to take my money.
