My wife and I adjusted our deed with our local registrar and lawyer. A week or so later we received this "Service Fee" in the mail from California (we are in North Carolina). I called the local office and they said definitely don't pay that. A copy of the deed is only 25 cents per page.

This mail is constructed VERY deceptively. It truly looks like a bill and I'm sure plenty of people pay it without asking any questions. Please help shut them down.
