I answered the phone. Was asked if I could hear the caller. I said, 'yes.' Perhaps my first mistake.

Caller indicated that there might be a malfunction with my computer in the next few days. He wanted to continue with his presentation.

I cut him off in a cordial way and hung up the phone.

The caller had an accent from one of the S.E. Asian countries and was calling from a 'call center' as I heard many conversations in the background.
