[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

The scam is through email. The email informs the recipient of the auto-renewal of a Geek Squad service contract. The email directs the recipient to call the 808, number if they wish to cancel the contract, before the renewal date. Once you place the call to the number, the scammer states they have to perform a "live" cancellation which requires the recipient to allow access to an electronic device, (phone, laptop, etc.). They go further to state that if the cancellation does not happen at that moment with them, the recipient will not be able to get their money back from the bank. He stated, "YOU HAVE TO CANCEL WITH ME." I said I would go into Best Buy and cancel, even though I don't have a Geek Squad Service plan, never have, and I was advised against that; told that would not work, I have to do the "live" cancellation at that time and with them.
