My sister had contacted Patrick's puppy farm over 6 months ago to check and see if they had any chihuahua puppies, at that time she said she didn't. She contacted by sister 2 days ago by Facebook/messenger and told her she had a 8 week old male chihuahua puppy for $500.00. She sent a picture of the male and also included a picture of a female puppy but said it was already taken. She said if we were interested she would need a $50.00 payment to hold the puppy she went on to talk about the puppies and that she liked to be updated on puppy from time to time and we could zoom she liked to make sure puppies had room to play and a good home. She wanted to know if Ihad a problem with it and I told her I didn't mind sending pictures from time to time but I didn't know how to zoom she said she could teach me. My sister told her I wanted the puppy and asked what we needed to do next she said she needed the $50 sent to her, she mentioned a couple of ways to pay but none were checks or money orders my sister went and got a vanilla card took pictures of the front, back and the recipe and sent it to her. She then asked my sister for my name, address, phone number, and email address so they would know what to put on transfer of ownership paper. About a hour later they emailed me a certificate that had puppy's name along with mine and my address it had a place for my signature and the breeders name which had a signature, there was no way for me to sign it was just a picture of certificate. My sister and this person messengered back and forth several times discussing when puppy would be available for delivery my sister told her we could meet her half way so she didn't have to drive 3 hours both ways. Several hours later around 5:30pm she messenger my sister again and told her we needed to send another $75 card so they could get insurance papers on the puppy my sister told her it would be tomorrow before she could get card and send it to her the breeder was suppose to get this insurance on the puppy send the paperwork to us so we could read and sign it and send it back. It was at this time that we started wondering if this was a scam we thought if they had been doing this for any length of time they would have told us about insurance fee when she was telling her about deposit and price of puppy. My sister messenger her again and asked her how long they had been doing this, could they give us a couple of references from somebody who had gotten puppies from them and send us pictures of parents. The next morning I asked my sister if she had heard from them she said they had sent one email from someone who supposedly bought puppy from them she didn't answer other questions or send a picture of parents. The breeder said she understood our worries about scammers in today's age where it happens more often but she would not do that to anyone and take there hard earned money because she wouldn't want it done to her she then quoted a Bible verse. Later last night we went ahead and sent the $75 card to her she said they would get the insurance papers done and sent to us then would messenger my sister when they were ready to leave by 5:30 last night we knew they wasn't going to come. This morning she messengered my sister and told her that her family had been a car accident that her daughter was killed and her husband was in critical condition, she asked that everyone pray for them. She told my sister that she had arranged for the puppy to be delivered to my address and I could pay the remaining amount once I had the puppy. She said the delivery person would be sending me a email to verify my address and set up time for delivery the name of delivery person was Diamond Global email address [email protected] the first email I got was asking if my name and address was correct I email back and said yes it was correct they sent me another email saying they were putting by delivery on hold. According to pets aviation commission department the puppy had to be insured before they could continue to enter my city/state they said once I got insurance on the puppy they would continue and bring him to me. They said that price determination commission the average shop price of a puppy is 3,500. They said for this price on life insurance they needed $400 which would be returnable once the puppy was delivered. They said once they knew that insurance was obtained they would set up delivery time. I did not respond to this email but forward it to my sister she then tried to messenger the breeder and found that the breeder had blocked her.
