Type of a scam Online Purchase
Hours after receiving the package, a family member received a phone call and voice mail from a man claimig it was his package and that he wanted it back. We did not respond or answer. In the phone call, he used the full name of the family member he called. He said the street name was spelled wrong. Then, he proceeded to text the same family member. Again, we did not reply to the texts. We do not know who this person is or how they got our phone number, address, and full name. Then today, a person showed up at our door and was looking for that package. It scared us that they showed up at our door and we are now worried that this is a scarier situation than we thought it was. When they asked for the package, and we gave it to them because in the moment we thought they genuinely wanted their package. But after doing some research, we now think this may be a brushing scam. Help!!
