I sold a watch via Facebook Marketplace. This buyer sent me $250 via Zelle- I received an email to provide shipping information, which I did, but the funds were never transferred to my bank account. I then received another email stating I needed to upgrade my Zelle account in order to receive the funds, due to the size of the sale. In order to upgrade, the buyer needed to increase the amount to $550 and I was to reimburse the buyer for $300. This was a scam- the buyer was using “Zelle” and this $300 was sent to a spam account while the actual item was shipped to this company.
