On 08/20/20, had movers come to my house - they were paid in full for $1,902.00. Charged me extra $600 for a "Smaller vehicle". I asked them to put my stuff in storage in NJ for a month until my closing happened. On 09/12/20, I emailed them and asked them to call me. I again emailed 09/21/20 and 09/23/20. No response. On 09/25/20, my attorney's office called them and they said they had a "server crash" and no one would be charged and nothing could be done at the moment. That same day, I submitted the request to move my stuff to the new address and automatically, received an invoice for $602.00. I emailed them twice for someone to call me because no one answered. Their phones are disconnected and no one is picking up. UI lost all my stuff, worth money and lost money for the services paid. They are using a DOT number that belongs to American Choice Van Lines, LLC, which is registered in California and has another location in NY. New City Movers isn't a registered business anywhere. The storage address they have on the invoice doens't even belong to them. UNTIL NOW, I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MY STUFF IS.

I had a cross country move from Maryland to California. I was looking for a moving company to help me with the move because no Uhauls were available within the Time frame that I needed the move done. I went to a website to get a quote on how much it would cost to move my furniture, and within minutes I got a call back from this Company, "New City Movers." They explained to me over the phone that the rate of the move would be $1700 USD for the move. They had me pay $340 USD to lock the rate in to move. I thought everything was good.

The day of the move, the truck showed up, and I already felt it was sketchy, but the men started to load my furniture and then the lead guy, told me that there was a "shuttle fee" that was being added to my quote to move my furniture from one side of the country to the next. They also told me it would be there within 5-7 days. the "Shuttle Fee" was $718.00 more than the originally agreed price. The gas costs and "additional services" were also NOT mentioned over the phone. So that brought the total for the Move to $2418.00 USD. This is a whole $1000.00 USD MORE than what was originally agreed upon. This all happened on July 18, 2020.

I have been calling them since and every time I either, do not get an answer, or a promise of a call back, or different information. Its been over 21 days and I still do not have any of my furniture. I already paid more than I was originally quoted, and the last thing I was told was that they had up to 21 days to deliver my furniture. It is now August 14, 2020, and its getting close to 30 days, and I have nothing. I was told I needed to pay another $1640.00 before they could deliver my furniture, and I did, but my furniture is still not here. This company has not brought any of my furniture to me, and now they won't even answer my calls, nor return them. My mother called them and asked for information as well, and they told her something completely different than i was told. That they had "30 days" to deliver my furniture. This is the third time the delivery date has changed. First 5-7 Business days, then up to 21 days, then now 30 days.

Now I am not getting any call backs, they are nowhere to be found and I can't even get through during "normal business hours". My Furniture is gone, and now I have almost no way to contact or locate these people to get my money back and my furniture back from them as well. I will be filing a police report, and I hope that my bank will have some sort of solution to this as well. DO NOT TAKE ANY BUSINESS FROM THESE PEOPLE.
