Type of a scam Phishing
“Your Netflix account will be locked because your payment was declined http://qv05j.com/VYQiKnuLTe.”
When I clicked the link it brought me to a page telling me that they are unable to “Validate my billing information” and if I didn’t respond within 48 hours my subscription would be suspended. All I needed to do is update my details to “Restart Membership.” They included an activation code and offered a “one-time bonus” at the end of this message.
I know there are no issues with my billing information. I also know that if there is an issue companies do not contact customers to solicit this information. Also, the verbiage that was used to begin the second paragraph, “Obviously we’d love to have you back,” sent up a red flag.
I did not click the “Restart Membership” button so I am not sure what is requested beyond there.
