I filled out an online info form and was quickly contacted via email and text message regarding the available kitten I was interested in. The owner had dialogue with me over text regarding the kitten, and even provided several photos / videos. We arranged payment and delivery information, and I paid the “breeder” via Zelle. My bank blocked the full amount of the requested transfer ($850), and only transferred $500. When I contacted the “breeder”, he said this was normal, and gave me another email account to send the money to. This was obviously suspicious, and I grew more suspicious when he declined to give his name. He because very hostile / abrasive. Ultimately, he stopped communicating, never produced any kitten, and never refunded the money.
