Hello, I'm contacting you about an unlawful fraudulent harassment that had happened to my mom and I regarding the Newport Beach Animal Shelter located in Newport Beach California. Despite their website clearly stating that their hours of operations are from 11a.m. to 2p.m., someone who claims to work there called me twice after 5 p.m. saying someone brought in my lost cat and demanded a minimum of $200.00 in order to start surgery that may or may not save his life. (They refused to confirm nor deny that they had him and the man I spoke to refused to give me their name.) I called them back at the time of their hours of operations and they lied saying no one called me and denied that someone was asking for money instantly. The lady I spoke to had an extremely hostile tone of voice and had an attitude as if I was bothering her, even though I have proof they called me, she didn't care and stated just that. FWI I did lose my cat and had posted it on the website PawBoost.com. I don't know who else with lost pets they are harassing for money but this is horribly unethical and they need to be stopped immediately. I have screenshots of the phone record to prove they called us.
