I am as well going through the same thing and being contacted with the same person's name Michael Manley in which is not affiliated with NBC. I'm involving our local authorities and community to make aware of this scam. Reporting to BBB and consumer protection services.

I was notified of a potential part-time job opportunity through a university job posting. The job posting suggested an opportunity to earn $300 a week for those who agree to drive around the city with an advertisement for the Winter 2022 Olympics plastered on their car. I grew suspicious once I was instructed to deposit a check which was greater than the agreed-upon amount of $300, which I was to use to pay for a specialist to wrap my vehicle with the advertisement. I asked for clarification on the exact dollar amount I should expect to receive in order to pay the specialist, but no response was provided. I was told to text the number provided by the 'hiring coordinator' Michael Manley to confirm my address, though when attempting to reach the number via phone call, no one answered, and no voicemail box was available.
