I was given a number 949-205-7496 by a friend for student loan forgiveness. I initiated contact on 3/15/16 and asked what agency they were with, and was told the Department of Education. Frank Healey stated he wanted to see if I was eligible. He asked me my name, number, birth date, address, student loan PIN number, etc. I did not provide my PIN number, he sent me an email (it was from a .gov email so I thought it was legit) but it turned out to be from my student loan account requesting access to my accounts (I did not realize this at the time). The call dropped, I called back 3/17/16 and was on the phone for about 30 minutes while Frank Healey checked my eligibility. He was able to gain access to all my student loans (I assume he gained access to my social security number), place of employment, etc. He informed me I was eligible for maximum forgiveness. He said all my student loans would be paid off June 1st and I would only have to pay $39.42 a month (starting June 5th and it would be drafted from my bank account) for 4 years and then $0 a month for the next 6 years (unless my income went above a certain amount and then I would only have to pay $11 a month for the remaining years) and after 10 years all my loans would be forgiven. He only need to submit my application and proceeded to ask for my maiden name, driver's license number, etc. At this point, I asked him what the catch was and realized it was a scam. I ended the call and contacted the Department of Education (I received an email that my password had been changed) and was informed it was a scam. I received an email from Frank stating to email proof of income to: [email protected]. I have also received a text message and multiple phone calls from Frank.
