Dear BBB,

I found this business that supposedly assists individuals with student loans. Something just seems a little out of the ordinary and I wanted to send you guys a message if you have heard of this company and if it is a legitimate company. We started to fill out an application over the phone and I accidentally gave them my SS#. I am getting it changed anyway so its not a big worry, but I am curious about these guys.

Hello Benjamin

Our company National Scholars Aid works directly with consumers through the Department of Education to get you approved for one new consolidated loan, paying off all of your existing loans, and lowering your payment. President Obama and congress passed a piece of legislation called the William D Ford Act, which allows the Dept. of Education to consolidate student loans. So our company is here to help you pull your loans and see what you qualify for to get you into the best position possible. We will also oversee your account for the entire life of your student to loans; so you will never need to worry about these again. />
This act. provides the Department of Education the ability to forgive federal debt. These programs require specific eligibility, however in most cases we can provide a much more efficient repayment than an interest based service provider like the one managing your loans currently.

Once we provide you with an eligibility profile, we will be able to show you all options available both by your current provider as well as with The Department of Education. Again, I look forward to working with you.

Rep called to offer me student loan for good interest rate, but wants money up front. Website displays logo, obviously copied and pasted, even though business is not in database. Website has somewhat murky wording as well. Rep had all my personal identity info, including entire SSN and PIN # to access my FSA (Federal Student Aid) account.
