I answered the phone and initially no one said anything and then a female came on the line. The individual asked for me by first and last name recited an old address which was the first red flag. She continued on, informing me that she was attempting to collect a debt owed to a banking institution and wanted to know how I would be "taking care of it today." The next red flag was that she was talking very fast. After I informed that the debt had been paid in full some time ago she became argumentative and questioned if I had confirmation of the pay off that I would send to her. I realized then that it was definitely a scam.
