I was contacted by this "organization" a while back for my chronic pain issues. They offered to send me, at no cost, specialized neck and knee braces to try out. I was told that if none of them worked for me, I could return them for free and try something else. They had some of my medical information, including my chronic pain history and enrollment in Medicaid, but not my account number for that. I was asked several questions and it sounded legitimate at first, but then the questions abruptly stopped and the rep told me that the braces would be arriving within 7 to 10 days. I wondered why they didn't need more specific information. The braces never came. What did come, not long after, was a very suspicious call that seemed to be some kind of ploy to con elderly individuals out of money and/or use their credit for fraud. This is basically what I was expecting, and as I am not elderly, have no savings to speak of, and my credit is horrible, there's really nothing that they can scam from me. I do not recall the number they called from previously, so this may or may not be the same one. I pushed the "1" just so someone would answer today, so I could get the organization's name, then I hung up. They could be legitimate, but I could find NOTHING online about them anywhere. It is not the only scam call that I have been getting lately. There are people out there apparently hijacking other people's phone numbers and using them to make the scam calls so that they are more difficult to be traced. Others you simply cannot call back at all when you try. I wish I knew how I ended up on these telemarketers' and scammers' radar. They just keep changing phone numbers and calling, and I just keep blocking the numbers. UGH! People are horrible. I hope this place checks out, but I don't think it will. What a shame. It's just despicable.
