received a call stating they were the bank the issues cards to visa, mastercard, discover, and American Express and because of my good credit they can require my bank to lower my interest rate to zero at no cost and keep it as zero interest for life. My call was transferred to 4 different people, ended up giving all my personal information, to confirm my identity of course. They continued to tell me that they had all my Equifax information and needed to protect my identity by confirming my information. At the end I learn there is a $2,000 fee added to my credit card for guaranteed free interest. I tried to back out a couple times but in the end agreed. After promising my payments would still go to my bank they then offered a Discover Card. Now I've paid $2,000, can't be refused because I agreed, and now added $2,000 to my debt for supposed zero interest. This is a scam and I don't know why I fell for this, but I did. These guys are pretty savvy.
