I had attempted to send money on paypal and the payment was declined by the cardholder (n26), the money was still deducted from my account though. I contacted paypal and they assured me that they had not put a hold on this money at all. I contacted n26 and they told me that it had not even came out of my account. I argued with them for awhile and then they finally were in agreement with me that it in fact had taken the funds out of my account and put my $206.10 on hold and that the money would be returned to my account in 12 business days. It was not, however, 22 calender days later I logged into my account to see if it had been, I had been checking this everyday. I noticed when I logged in my balance was $6 and change and the last I knew my balance was like $2 and change so I began to scroll through my transaction history and right at the top of the list were 3 separate charges from somewhere in the phillipines totaling $200. Now the only way I would have had $200 is if the money from the paypal hold (206.10) had been lifted. So basically the hold was lifted, the money returned to my account, without any sort of notification, not by email, push notification, nor did it even show it in the transaction history. So you mean to tell me it was spent fraudently as soon as it was released? I cancelled my card filed a dispute and now it has been 9 days, I have filled out the dispute form 3 times because they had a problem with a typed signiture through adobe on my computer. And I just received notification by email yesterday that they had received my dispute and could expect to hear back from them in 22 days. The same number of days it took for the origional hold to be released? Kinda suspicious wouldn't you all agree. I have asked several times to speak with a manager, to the fraud department, or basically anyone other that their joke of a customer service call center, and have yet to reach anyone that can actually do anything to resolve this. Just kind of funny that it was 206.10 origionally, no deposit notification upon the hold release, and immediatly spent in the Phillipines in the ammounts of 0.02 to Landers donation, $188.42 to Meralco, and $11.76 to Go Salads. All 3 in the phillipines, all within minutes from one another. 188.42+11.76+0.02= $200.20, odd that it was the same amount as the original dollar amount I had initially tried to send on paypal minus the fee to send to a friend on paypal, which for that amount is $6 and change.
