Received an email saying a charge (which was obviously fraudulent) for norton-LifeLock in the amount of $370.40. Phoned their 800-659-2619 to cancel. After an hour of being walked through stuff, the person said it wasn't working and hung up. I tried again, and the exact same thing happened.

It appears hostwinds.com is hosting these criminals attempting to extort money with phony Norton "renewals"

When I called, didn't seem right, asked his name...Michael. Kept He kept telling telling me I had to be home. Where was I? I needed to be at my home computer. So bizarre! His phone # is 458-213-0518
He called me back after I realized this was a scam. I hung up on him. He called me back and I told him I was going to report him and calling the police.
Why do people do this?

I received two emails over the course of a few days--one for $199 and one for $399 saying this was for Norton Lifelock for Business. I have not seen a charge on credit card and have frozen the card-Discover. I called and talked to a guy who sounded foreign. He said he would have to get into my system to delete the program before he could issue a refund. He said I had renewed a year ago but I could not find this amount on my Discover Card. I said I would not let him into my computer. He sounded very hurt and asked why? Finally, I just hung up the phone. He tried to call back but I didn't answer. The number he called from was JAN at 908-280-8976. It must be a SCAM.

My email from N-soho inc. was from "[email protected]" confirming a renewal of a Prime Subscription at Kimber-AR SOHO. The account was being
billed $599 for a purchase. The email also had what looked like a PayPal letterhead. If I did not place this order, told to call (810) 375-8842. Number had very noisy line,
the responder spoke poor English, could not get much out of him. Checked with PayPal, told me they were not involved. I called that number again later, voicemail
came on, saying "textmail subscriber" was not available!

So we received an email from N-SOHO [email protected]> says: Order Confirmed. N-SOHO Prime Subscription renewed successfully. Dear Customer,

It goes on to give a customer ID, order #, regis user id (our email) activation date: August 6, 2020, cost 399$ So we called the number given to find our what this is all about, as we did not order this. We wanted to cancel. But we insisted we did not ever order this, he said he could prove that this was on our PC. He had us go to run and type in cmd then there was a number, he said a security number that he read out loud, it was a very long number that indeed matched what he said, at that point he wanted to transfer us to another department billing, so we could allow them to have access to our PC in order for us to receive a cancelation form. The only way was for us to allow the charge to take place, and then and only then, we could request a cancelation form, that another department, billing, would need to take over our PC in order to send us this very special cancelation form. We stopped and said this is a scam, and we hung up. We are very worried that somehow, we will be charged, and just feel that in some way our PC has been infiltrated. We stopped before we allowed them to have access, but we did type in cmd in our run window, so we hope we are safe, and again we are very worried.

Also got one of those scam e-mails from N-SOHO Inc. with a PayPal logo, charging my account for $599. I let PayPal know. No charges have been posted. Recommend anyone receiving such e-mails let PayPal know as they are more likely to follow-up since their reputation is at stake.

Received an email message in my in box on 8/25/2020 supposedly from N-SOHO, Inc. This was to confirm an order, KBR-SOHO Prime Membership renewed. PayPal logo on correspondence. Issue with this transaction? Call 1-810-375-8842 (8am-10pm EST). When I called wanted me to have access to a computer. The person I was speaking to said the order was for a gun in the amount of $599, shipped to another address. I became suspicious when I didn’t give my address during the conversation also needed access to a computer. Told him I would call him back the next day when I had access to a computer. He keep insisting on him contacting me. I asked for his direct number and Id# (David Miller #786) was the information given. Didn’t return call. Be aware of SCAMMERS.

The amounts for the scams are getting larger. I received an email from N-SOHO Inc. regarding a KBR-SOHO Prime subscription being renewed at $599. I, like others, DID NOT CALL the 1-800 # they provided for unauthorized purchases. I called my credit union and my creditors to let them know, and forwarded the email to their respective fraud departments.

Obviously I did not order this; what do I do now?

I received this email today. It made sense because I had bought my daughter a new computer recently and she had said something about Norton expiring but it did not make sense because there is no way that Norton had my credit card info.
I called the number- I hope this did not give them access to my phone! They wanted to remote in to my computer! I refused to let them and they tried and tried to persuade me to let them in or they would not refund my $199. Well, I would not let them. I was not charged anything. I reported the scam to the feds. Hopefully they can catch these guys. I am sure they have had many successful victims. They are trained on what exactly to say to people to keep them on the hook. Scary times!

I did not order N-Soho...I don't want N-Soho...Got two emails welcoming me and telling me that they want $199.00 for a membership of some sort...……..

Received an email from N-SOHO Inc saying I'd been charged $199 for Norton antivirus. It included the following: "Issue with this transaction? Call +1 (908) 280-8976 (Toll-Free)". Usually scams come with a link to click, not a number to call. Of course I didn't call, but I would like to know how the scam works for them. Can they put something on one's phone if one does call?
I did check with my credit card to make sure no purchase had been made. I used to be a Norton subscriber, but no longer am. I wonder if this was random or if they had a list of previous subscribers.

- Cape Coral, FL, USA

Received an email that looked like to came from Norton Securities saying my prime subscription was renewed successfully and my account will be billed $399.99. the email went on to say if I have an issue with this transaction call the 800 number listed. called the number was told they would refund the money but needed access to my computer and to log into my bank account. once their they had me enter the amount of 99.99 and than 300 without decimals. I entered the 9999 and it jumped my account up 9,999 then the scare tactics started I would be arrested for fraud I then was to drive to Target and purchase 4 $500 dollar gift cards and read them the pin number on card. And repeat this until I paid back the $9,999.
