While listening to this local station at work today, my husband called in to win tickets for a cruise to Baja from San Diego, he called in with the winning information, and they advised him he was the winner and said they would contact him at 12:30 pm today 5/31/23. My husband then waited for their call. When the call came in he was then notified that he was not the winner, but they said they had vacation packages starting at $800. This is a very common scam and I would like the public to be aware of these local scammers. Their radio station should be held liable for scamming their listeners. They asked my husband for specific information including his address and other identifying questions to which he quickly declined, and asked why they told him he won when he called. They refused to acknowledge that they told him that, however, I can easily call my phone carrier and retrieve the call, to have as evidence. I will also be notifying the Santa Barbara Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and many other local stations. This radio station is making money off of scamming listeners, and people with limited education and resources, which makes me sick to my stomach. I will also be contacting our city council members and notifying them of the station scamming our local residents. Santa Barbara has a reputation that this radio station is tarnishing. I need to make sure no more residents fall victim to this scam radio station.
