I hired him as a builder to build a prefab home. He was listed on the Nelson Homes website as a builder/contractor. I paid him in advance for scheduling the soil tests and surveys needed for building my home. He took the money and scheduled the services but wrote them hot checks which bounced. I didn't find out until I contacted the vendors myself. He also charged me for surveys I didn't need and that the vendor did not charge for. He did give me back $2275 of the money out of $4871.50. He still owes me $2596.50. This has thrown me 6 months behind while interest rates continue to climb. He intentionally wrote the bad checks to the vendors for their services.
